Is this the same Kenneth Miller whose introductory biology textbook has
been criticized for statements that attribute God-excluding meaning to
evolution? When I saw John Wiester (chair of ASA Science Education
commission) speak recently, he was quite upset because Miller had, several
times over several years, admitted that those statements were unscientific
and promised to omit them in future editions -- yet the 2000 edition had
just come out with the offensive statements intact.

It would seem difficult to reconcile the views attributed to Kenneth Miller
in this article (in particular, the recognition that evolutionary
explanations do not exclude God, which I wish others including Wiester
would recognize) with the failure to correct God-excluding statements in
his introductory textbook, if indeed this is the same Miller.
