They do nothing of the kind. If biblical statements about ages of the
patriarchs are understood as accurate historical records then a date for the flood
on the order of Bp. Ussher's, 2348 B.C., must be correct. & if the records are
flexible enough to fit another 4000-7000 years in, why not just flex out the long
ages?
