Some calculations on the heat production involved in various proposed flood
mechanisms can be found in Soroka and Nelson, 1983, Physical constraints on
the Noachian deluge. Journal of Geological Education, 31:135-137. Although
their philosphical and logical approaches leave a good deal to be desired,
the calculations regarding heat seem sound. (I do not have the background
to be sure). The calculations included two cometary impact scenarios,
extensive rain, and hydrothermal springs. One impact scenario has waves
caused by about 150 comets during the flood period, thus avoiding the need
for an enormous water supply. However, even this would produce a
temperature rise of about 2000 C.
