There has been talk on the EEN list (Evangelical Environmental Network)
about setting up a literature table at some of the upcoming promise keepers
rallies. I for one have volunteered for the Washington D.C. rally.
For those of you outside of the USA, Promise Keepers (PK) is a series of
week end rallies held at major stadiums. Typical attendance is about
50,000, and last year a total of around 750,000 attended nationwide.
Possibly twice as many will attend this year.
I attended the Washington D.C. rally last year, where there was a whole
building filled with literature tables, from various Christian
organizations. This would be a wonderfull opportunity to expose others to
the ministry of ASA. The cost of a table is $200-$300(?), and existing
brochures could be distributed (well, they'd have to be printed). It
wouldn't even have to be manned continuously.
One thing that challenged me last year at the PK rally was the call for
Integrity (it's one of the 7 Promises in the PK literature). Who better to
represent scientific integrity than ASA?
Is there anyone else (beside Joe C.) who is interested in this project?
