He has much to say about several of the themes voiced in the ASA
ListServer lately, especially the tendency of some on both sides of the
C-E Debate to overstate their case. From the book jacket: "Dissatisfied
with both creationist fallacies and materialist misconstruals, Ratzsch seeks
to lay the groundwork for more fruitful dialogue. He discusses the
nature of science and common creationist and evolutionist abuses as a
prelude to showing why both sides have remained critical of theistic
evolution."
I've begun reading this book with enthusiasm. It can help all of us, and
those we disagree with, to understand ourselves and our opponents. It
holds promise of assisting all of us to raise the level of dialogue in
the C-E Debate.
