Yesterday, three parallel sessions covered a wide range of topics. Two sessions covered “human gender, sexuality and sex,” exploring the ways in which gender enters into our consideration as Christians with a vocation in science. Another two sessions addressed “ecology, environmental studies, and global warming.” The audio recordings of the first sessions of these talks, as well as the first two plenary talks, are now available for downloading on our website . The remaining talks will be added throughout the course of this meeting.
Last night, after a delicious banquet and the usual business meeting, the plenary session speaker was Larry Schweiger, president of the National Wildlife Federation since 2004. Larry gave a stimulating talk on our response to global warming. He literally covered the globe, addressing all the components and effects of climate change. The call for action was clear and urgent. The audience was receptive and appreciated the scope of the issue.
