| THE idea that the universe and all its contents were created by a suprem spiritual being called God has been around since the emergence of religion. All theistic religions affirm, as a matter of faith, that the cosmos is the product of supernatural causation. One of the regrettable consequences of the dominance of Christianity and Islam in Nigeria is that less than ten percent of Nigerians actually know the creation myths of their indigenous communities.
