    Grove City College - Physics/Astronomy

    Grove City College announces a faculty opening in the Department of Physics beginning in August 2008. A Ph.D. in Physics or Astronomy is required. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate physics courses and laboratories at all levels, advising students, and mentoring student research.  Qualified applicants will also assist the department in expanding its course offerings in astronomy and astrophysics. Among its research facilities, the department has a new on-site observatory containing a 14" Meade RCX400 telescope, and has recently purchased a nearby observational facility housing a 20" Torus CC05 telescope.  

    Candidates must evidence a strong record of classroom teaching, scholarship within their field, and a commitment to instructing highly motivated students (1268/1600 average SAT for entering freshmen). Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications.
