Private Schools:

Private Schools
an I.O.U. — Later,
by the end of 2008, this page will begin with a short discussion
(relevant for choosing a school) about the advantages
and disadvantages of private schools, either Christian or secular, compared
with other types
of schools: public, charter, and home. Then it will transition into
a focus on Christian education in private schools. But now there
are some useful resources:
Education — General
and Worldview
Two worthy goals are
improved quality for general education and worldview education:
• Improving general education is
the main theme in 3 areas of the website, in EFFECTIVE
TEACHING (with teaching
strategies and teaching
activities), LEARNING
SKILLS (to
help students learn how to learn more effectively inside and outside
school) and THINKING
SKILLS (with creative
thinking and critical
thinking combined
in methods for problem
solving in design and science).
• Our world-view
is our view of everything, so principles for worldview education are
in many areas, but especially in Worldview
Education & Christian
Stewardship of Life & Apologetics & Postmodernism and Christians
in Science.
Applications in different educational contexts are mainly in two areas of the website: ORIGINS QUESTIONS (in Public Schools & Christian Contexts & Informal Education); and SCHOOL OPTIONS which includes this page and Religious Neutrality in Public Schools and Religious (and General) Education in Home Schools and (later) Religious Implications of Informal Education.

THREE TYPES
OF LINKS in this website for Whole-Person Education:
An ITALICIZED LINK keeps you inside a page, moving you to another part of it. Above, a NON-ITALICIZED LINK is page-adding, opening a new page in a new window. Below, a NON-ITALICIZED LINK is page-replacing, opening a new page in this window. |
