      Information About the ASA
The American Scientific Affiliation (ASA) is a community of Christians who are scientists, and engineers, and scholars in related fields such as history of science, philosophy of science, and science education.

The website of ASA offers a wealth of interesting, useful information about science and faith and their relationships, and more.  This website about Whole-Person Education — with the seven areas you see above (Effective Teaching,...) — is a "website within a larger website."  You can explore the entire ASA website — which includes a blog by our executive director, daily stories about science, a series of Topics Pages (edited by Jack Haas), and much more — beginning with a homepage that includes a description of ASA,

The American Scientific Affiliation (ASA) is a fellowship of men and women in science and disciplines that relate to science who share a common fidelity to the Word of God and a commitment to integrity in the practice of science.  In matters of science and Christian faith, we offer Christian scholarship, education, fellowship and service to ASA members, churches, educational institutions, the scientific community, and society.

Within the ASA, there are three affiliations: Christian Biologists, Christian Geologists, Christian Engineers and Scientists in Technology.  In the recent past (although this structure may be changing) we had eight commissions: Bioethics, Communications, Creation, Global Resources and Environment, History and Philosophy of Science, Physical Sciences, Science Education, and Social Sciences.  The website you are now exploring, inside the overall ASA website, is being developed by the ASA Science Education Commission.
