Atheism and this list

I hope Glenn doesn't leave, but I agree that the quality of this list,
particular on the topic of Christianity and Evolutionary theory, has been
getting quite low, and an increasingly large percentage of the posts are
off-topic.

I've been trying to resist replying to Chris' stuff just for that reason
(well, frankly, for that reason -and- because I suspect this would take
unending time).

On the other hand, I'm a little concerned that some people will mistake lack
of philosophical response offered for a lack of response existing.
Christian philosophers are not particularly challenged by Chris' naive
evidentialist epistemology, nor intimidated by his continual and (trust me)
unwarranted condescension. But non-philosophers might be -- my only
concern.

Despite my bluntness, I do not mean to offend or belittle Chris.
He's -clearly- a very bright guy with some philosophy training that he's
putting aggressively to use. But unless some Christians on this list tell
me it's important to reply, I won't waste hours of my time assisting people
in turning this into just another alt.atheism or talk.origins amateur slug
fest. Those newsgroups already exist, and for a reason.

With that, I join Glenn in hoping that the focus and quality of this group
can improve.
