I have a very warm regard for the Dutch. The Netherlands is traditionally
where scientists and freethinkers fled to escape the bloodthirsty excesses
of medieval religionists. In fact Servetus found sanctuary there for most
of his life until he was captured by the Christians of the day and burned
at the stake. By custom, he is thought to be the founder of modern
Unitarianism.
