There DOES seem to be a common pattern among design-theory supporters. It's
the pattern of saying that design is evident and then backpedaling and
saying that design intervention is hidden or "inapparent." Some design
theory people seem to want to have it both ways.

Here, Lewis is almost explicitly denying the possibility of evidence of
intervention. Well, if there IS no evidence of intervention, how DOES he
provide a rational basis for claiming design?
