I have been a member of this list since early 1995 and continuously
subscribed for all but 4 months of that time. I believe the Lord led
me to the list and nothing that has happened has changed this
conviction.
But I am now a member of another Creation/Evolution list which is
much more rewarding, and I find I cannot keep up with both (and
keep my marriage and job!). I have been praying about my future on
this list and the recent set of posts critcising my quantity of replies I
take to be the answer. Regretfully I must therefore unsubscribe from
the Calvin Reflector. I doubt that I will return, but who knows? I will
answer any remaining message privately.
I wish to thank all those who increased my knowledge of the Creation/
Evolution issue, particularly Glenn.
I believe that Evolution is fundamentally misguided (although not entirely
wrong). The reality it is describing is really Creation (ie. Mediate Creation).
But Evolution survives because it is the only naturalistic possibility..
Therefore I believe those Christians who embrace Evolution and who
oppose Creation are unwittingly embracing error and opposing God's
truth, and for this they will be judged.
I believe that in the 21st Century the Intelligent Design movement will
become dominant in the Creation/Evolution debate (indeed arguably
it already is) and those Christians who oppose it in the name of Evolution
will, in the words of Gamaliel, "only find yourselves fighting against
God." (Ac 5:39).
I leave with a clear conscience having discharged my responsiblity
to warn you Christian Evolutionists of this. I have presented you with
an alternative model, Mediate Creation, which fully accounts for all
the observed scientific facts and remains true to the Biblical teaching
on Creation, but you have rejected it out of hand. I pray that you will
yet reconsider before it is too late!
