I don't mean to speak for Brian, but in context it seems to me he was not
talking about faith in general, but about the faith of the CHRISTIANS. Without
the resurrection, this new faith was indeed worthless. The example of the
Sadducees is thus, IMO, irrelevant. They were not followers of a
self-described Messiah.
