JQ: The point that I am trying to get home revolves around your labeling
of evolution as a fact. The force that we feel because of gravity is
indeed
a fact, we cannot dispute the fact that it is one of the things that holds
us to the ground. At this point we can only study it to understand it

Indeed and similarly we can observe how species appear in the fossil
record starting with simple single cellular to multi-cellular and so
onwards. Thus we can observe the evolution of species over time. This is
what is meant by the fact of evolution.

JQ: better, how it operates etc. The issue that we are really discussing
is "
how did all of us get here?". Let's face it, if we had a time machine we
could go back and see how everything got to this point. Of course the
rocks

Of course this is not what I was discussing. I was merely pointing out
that evolution was/is a known fact.

JQ: can act as a time machine along with biochemical investigations.
Should we
though call evolution a fact? Do we know for sure that this was the
mechanism that brought all of living things to this point(since biogenesis
for those who are not comfortable)? This is all im trying to say.

And all I am trying to say is that you're still confusing the fact of the
observations with an explanation of the observations. The theory of
evolution tries to explain the observed data.

JQ: I have twoquestion. Gravity is a undeniable fact because you can
experience it first hand. My question is this: what observations have led
you to conclude that evolution is a fact..ie..we evolved over millions of
years from other forms of life. What has led you to conclude that
evolution
is THE fact and that nothing else could or may have been involved?

Similar to gravity being an undeniable fact you and I can observe the fact
of evolution by observing for instance the fossil record. Your question is
how can I be sure that the explanation of this fact is correct ? I can't
be a 100 % sure, it's called a scientific theory or hypothesis. But I can
try to understand the observations and see how different hypotheses
explain them.
Similarly I could ask, how can you be sure that gravity is the fact and
that nothing else is involved ? Now if your question were, how can I be
sure if a theory explaining the fact of gravity is THE theory then my
answer is I can't. It's just at the moment the best explanation of the
facts as we know them.
