James ? wrote me recently as a result of posts here asking for specifics on
error in Josh McDowell's book, EVIDENCES. My reply to him was bounced;
perhaps he will see it here:
-----------------------
James -- returned home & looked up my copy of McDowell's book.
A lot of places I might point out where people say he errs -- I'll pick
just two.

Here he quotes D. M. S. Watson, who wrote in 1929.
But he uses a secondary source, a 1969 book!
And that author did not quite get the quote straight!
The way it is paraphrased, it has been criticized as misleading.

I also note that my friend Glenn Morton wrote over 1/2 of Josh's book --
and
has since repudiated it.

The Gentry stuff is still around, but the criticisms against
it have been rather substantive. The sheer volume of coal in the world,
including that already mined (see any good almanac) is far too much to have
been
formed in one short year anyway (a similar argument exists for coral beds).

I had not remembered Josh as a YECer -- should have. He has no credibility
in this book except,of course, with the ICR folks.
