Then I will quit bringing it up. But I disagree your contention that accuracy
is "marginal". Accuracy equals credibility.

Jim,

I am going to read you the riot act on this because you keep downplaying the
importance of mistakes like the one Johnson has in his book. One friend of
mine, a paleontologist, thinks that Johnson made this mistake on purpose as
part of a dishonest strategy. I don't agree with him, but that is how a
secular person views creationists because that is our reputation--ignore
contrary data and don't worry about the correctness of the facts.

A few years ago, I nearly became an atheist because of these erroneous facts.
I will never have good humor where it concerns Christians not taking seriously
their responsibility to present truthful and accurate data. Recently on the
ASA listserv a lady asked for help because a kid she knew was doubting his
religion. Largely it was because he found out that Christians were not
telling him the factual truth about the scientific data. I for one take that
very seriously and you should to. To do such shoddy research, that children
question whether God is God, is criminal. It is, how do you say, "marginal". A
distraction from the main issue. Check out Matth 18:6 and tell me it is not
serious. And if you don't take such things seriously, then shame on you.

For 25 years I have worked with geologic data which clearly showed that nearly
everything Christian apologists were saying about geology was wrong, factually
wrong, observationally wrong. Every day I saw data contradicting widely held
belief systems in Christendom. When I would ask Christians about these issues
they would dismiss me as the one who was crazy, or tell me that the evidence
didn't matter or that it didn't really exist and I was being brainwashed by
the evolutionists I worked with. I learned over the past 25 years, that
Christian apologists do sloppy research and if a Christian apologist says
something you had better check it out.

Whether you agree or not Jim, truth is important, very important. And God,
himself, will hold us accountable for doing our best to be correct.
