I know most of us are probably familiar with Hugh Downs as
that friendly old guy next to baba wawa on 20/20. Its hard
to say much bad about this version of Hugh Downs, however
a completely different Hugh Downs appears on his radio
pgm on Sunday mornings. A real ultra liberal, fundamentalist
atheist. Almost unbelievable that its the same Hugh on 20/20.

Anyway, I listen to his radio show almost by "accident" in
that I generally use the radio as an alarm and his show just
happens to be on when my alarm goes off Sunday morning.

Hugh's subject this morning was really a sermon on the standard
myth of the origin of life most of whose details have been
thoroughly discredited over the last couple of decades. But
Hugh is a good evangelist ...

For the most part he was just giving a Dawkinsonian type
presentation when about halfway through he mentioned an
alternative intelligent design view given in a "brilliant
new book, Darwin's Black Box, by Michael Behe". But,
unfortunately :), this would require another program to
discuss in detail.

So, Mike, if you're listening in I hope you are encouraged
to know that Hugh Downs thinks your book is brilliant ;-).

As a sidelight, I thought I would mention that my new
spelling checker suggested I change Behe to behead.
hmmmm....., watch out Hugh :-).
