A Rabbit Trail

Hi Glenn,

I have read your most recent post, and I want to apologize for any
impression that my prior post was meant to be condescending. A good
brother has pointed out that the post may have been better made
privately. I am sorry.

Really, I wanted to encourage you to rethink or rework your model in
several areas that have some legitimate conflicts with the original
Hebrew translation. If we continue with our discussion I would be more
than happy to summarize them for you. I am not trying to destroy your
position, only to understand it more in light of a correct application
of translation and not interpretation.

More importantly at this juncture, though, is that I hope you will
correct several obvious errors in your last post.
Specifically....

>So you said last night that animals were only able to reproduce after their
kind.

>Your interpretation would say that beefaloes should not exist but they do.

>You said that animals and plants could only reproduce after their kind...

A careful review of my posts should demonstrate that these statements
are false. I did not say these things. Either a mistake has been made or
you are simply setting up strawman arguments from which you can further
your position.

>They don't and you haven't yet dealt with the beefalo. How about this?

I have not been debating your position on kinds. You have been debating
your own posts which, unfortunately, did not quote me properly. I have
only quoted Leviticus 19:19 and asked a followup question. I personally
thought that you answered the question very well (maybe God didn't want
any beefaloes! :-)).

BTW, the sequence of our posts shows that you took the string off topic
on 7/7/96 immediately after my post suggesting a discussion on Christ
and Creation. I thought that we should call it a "rabbit trail" since it
did not deal with the original idea.

An old pastor of mine used to call discussions that didn't deal with the
original subject matter "rabbit trails". They often lead to the briar
patch!

:-)
