Which came first, the chicken or the dino?

"Hi Nick,
I have a lot of problems with believing that Dino's evolved from Birds, "

I do to, Randy. I think birds evolved from dinos. Or that birds ARE
dinos, depending on your definition.

Randy said:
"or some of which are:

1. If so why are there so many birds and so few dino's?
2. What caused the lose of flight? And wouldn't that cause extinction?"

These are based on the error above. However, ostriches and penguins
should show you that flight, like any trait, is an advantage only
in certain situations.

"3. There should be millions of transitional life forms still alive."

Why? (why millions, and why should they still be alive, given that
at least 140 million years and a miles-wide rock impact have happened
since the transitional forms existed)

"4. How do you explain the differences such as bone structures. (Birds
have more or less hollow bones to allow flight."

"More or less hollow bones" don't strike me as anything drastic
(say, on the level of the development of an eye). I'm pretty sure
(feel free to check me) that birds that have been grounded for a long
time (say, ostriches) have solid bones, while bats have developed
hollow bones. If I'm wrong on those statements I'll retract this, but
if correct that would be evidence that hollow bones develop to aid
flight, but that the trait is lost if it no long helps the creature.

"There are so many questions and so few answers or for that matter
evidence yet evolutionists still consider this leap of faith science? I
don't buy it.

Any serious observation of any animal shows much evidence of a complex
designer. Look at the flea for instance how anyone can believe that
something so small can do what it can is amazing. And what did that
little flea evolve from?

I might be able to understand how a scientist could observe scientific
evidence and come up with a theory but there is simply not the evidence
there.

Only through the brainwashing of our secular educational systems does the
dogma to eliminate God from our minds thrive.

Randy Landrum"

Any serious examination of an ostrich shows that it has vestigial claws
on it's wings. While I agree that this is evidence of a "complex designer", it
is not very good evidence for an "intelligent designer" (which is what Randy
had in mind, I bet). :-)

On another note, serious examination of everything is the best way to
avoid "brainwashing" by secular OR religious institutions.

Anyone ever tried ostrich steak? Leaner than beef, and it tastes
better too.

See ya,
Nick
