What do you know for sure about evolution?

"Most [paleontologists] agree that speciation lies at the heart of the
evolutionary provess, but there is still no concensus as to whether species
appear through the gradual development of heritable morphologica change, or
through geologically rapid shifts in morphology. [...] And the debate is not
over." P. K. Strother. Choice. 33:362.

If I may paraphrase:
"It is not the fact of evolution that is up for grabs. We know it is a
fact. It is just that we don't have a mechanism that we can agree upon to
make it happen..."
