As requested in the automated response to my subscription request, I'm
offering a few words about myself. I'm a religious non-believer interested in
questions of science and scientific method, and also in the pedagogical issues
brought out in these discussions.
Currently I teach composition at Purdue. I've also taught composition
and literature in Thailand (my wife's native country), including some courses in
"Bible as Literature."
