Second for anyone who wishes to deny the status of human to homo erectus, the
question becomes, do we really want to have a non-human,tool-making,
weapon-making, non-spiritual being on the planet? Some might answer yes, but
in my mind that would diminish the specialness of man.It is better to include
him (and his possible porno-venus figure of 300k yr ago) than to theologically
have to deal with a non-human weapon maker.

Hey, what do you guys think about the Nephilim? I heard on Dr. Gene Scott
(or was it Paster Arnold Murray?) that some of them must have survived the
flood, and had a pretty good biblical reference which cross-referenced with
Genesis 1:12 or wherever it is they first show up... (maybe they show up in
Job or Judges or someplace)

Assuming this venus figure I mentioned last night was made by homo erectus, do
we want to theologically deal with a non-human purveyor of pornographic
statues? Frankly, this sounds more like fallen man than risen ape.

Sounds like the Nephilim to me; tell me what you guys think? Are they
the same as Neanderthals? Did Homo Sapiens Sapiens / Adam's descendants
systematically wipe them out? Jared Diamond (author of a book comparing
man to Chimpanzees) believes they were too non-verbal to interbreed
with Homo Erectus (or whoever it was around during most of the time),
even though it would have been technically possible.

I'd love to hear what the people this list think about the Nephilim...
