# of cell divisions

It struck me at Chinese lessons today what the problem was with the number of
cell divisions. Walter is citing an approximation. If Walter will agree to
the number 43 as the proper number of cell divisions then I will grant that
point to him. This brings the number of cells in the body down to 10^13
which is of the proper order of magnitude rather than the 10^15 that 2^50
requires. Thus in a sense we were both correct. Walter is correct that it
is around 50 divisions and I was correct that it had to be smaller.

Would you go with this Walter?

This will allow us to move on to the issue of what the mutation rate per
location per replication ought to be and how we shoud handle that.
