I'm at the Christian Bookseller's Ass. Convention in Denver, hawking THE
DARWIN CONSPIRACY, and met up with Phil Johnson at the IVP booth, where his
new book REASON IN THE BALANCE is being introduced.
I've only had a chance to skim it, but it is going to KNOCK SOME SOCKS OFF.
Phil shares with C.S. Lewis the ability to write about complex philosophical
matters in a very engaging way. Get the book ASAP. He has an excellent chapter
contrasting Dawkins and Gould ("Is There a Blind Watchmaker"?) in which he
unpackages the problems with the "replicator" view of evolution (as if it
already didn't have enough problems, computer and otherwise).
Anyway, Phil is at his best in this book and, I can attest, having a wonderful
time.
