Mouse Ribs question

Last Monday in the Dallas Morning News' Discovery Section, there was a report
about a study which purportedly showed that by messing with the homeotic genes
a mouse would produce a rib cage which was like a primitive mouse ancestor.
In other words, the thing 'devolved'. As is usual in Newspaper accounts, they
give you just enough to tantalize you but not enough to know what the
implications are or even where to find the original article. They name two
researchers, who I think worked separately one on insects the other on the
mouse. They are Charles Bieberich and Sean Carroll.

Does anyone know where I can find the original article on the mouse rib. The
Dallas Morning News staff should be sent to their room without supper for the
poor their poor documentation.
