Mark Phillips asked;

> What does the garden of Eden refer to?

Revelation 22:1,2 is an interesting passage in relation to this topic.

Firstly, this passage places the tree of life in the heavenly realm, thus it
makes me wonder if the garden of Eden might not have been in the heavenly realm
as opposed to somewhere on earth.

Secondly, it mentions the tree of life *on either side of the river* and *each
tree yielding its fruit.* Hence, more than one tree. The tree of life appears
to be a species, rather than a one-off item!
