David, et al:
Many scientists todday are rejecting evolution and its
assumptions for a younger earth. The major problem
with any age of the earth is lack of real SCriptural
evidence for any age. We could assume the need for a
young earth. That really isn't discussed. We merely
say, "God created all that exists in seven days."
They were likely longer than 24 hrs. (apporx.) since
there were 360 days in a year until the time of
Hezkiah. That doesn't eefct the seven days.
The chroinology in many Bibles was devised on faulty
assumptions by Bishop Usher. He used Biblical
genealogies and assumed every generation to have been
listed. He also assumed a length of generations. He
has been proven wrong in several assumptions, thus his
figure is wrong. So, we come back to the point, "Why
worry about the age of the earth?" The point made is
that we all accept creation. We need to teach and to
learn that fact. We need to point out the fallacies
of evolution as best we can. All needs to be done in
a way to win people to see what is really true. ICR
has its place. it does research and helps us to see
the Creationist arguments. Other groups can enhance
our knowledeg and faith. But, no group supercedes
Scripture. No sicentific assumption supercedes
Scripture. Science changes as evidence and data
change. Scripture does not change. Let's get to an
argument that helps the Gospel.
