    From the citation, it appears that the lyrics were composed between
    1944-1960, most likely 1957, well after his conversion.

    However I have not read the article. Am I mistaken in my belief that his
    hymn was meant to be sung with tongue planted firmly in cheek? Had Lewis
    accepted the tenets of evolution?
