The ASA needs a pastoral outreach program...

I have been listening to Chip Ingram's "Living On The Edge" program over the
internet lately.  Chip is the pastor of Santa Cruz Bible Church out in CA.
I was really drawn to this guys teaching because of his intelligent style of
teaching in which he presents supporting extra-biblical evidence to his
messages as well as sound reasoning.  He obviously puts a lot of effort into
his research.  Each day I for the past 2 weeks I have looked forward to his
half hour session expecting to receive some new understanding and never
coming away disappointed.  Then he dropped the ball.  Over the past couple
days he has broadcast his series "Why I Believe in Creation".  At first I
wasn't too bothered by what he had to say because it seemed he was attacking
"chance" as the creator (quoting Behe alot) but then he sort of bungled
things in the end (dismissing the existance of Neanderthal, etc.)

You know... it really gets depressing some times to listen to a pastor who
obviously is intelligent and you know must draw tons of people into thier
church because of their intelligence and then they turn around and
completely blow it when it comes to science.  You know that there are
hundreds of people completely trusting in what this pastor has to say
because he is so "right on the mark" when it comes to other issues so he
must be right about his science.

Is there anyone (preferably knowledgable in transitional forms /
anthropology ) that would be willing to listen to his (4) 30 min broadcasts
and advise him of his errors?  You might be asking why don't I do this if
I'm so interested... well I would but I simply don't have the full knowledge
or reference material that it would take to do an adequate job. This guy
would be an amazing pastor if he just had the right information.  I honestly
believe that he is the type of individual that would weigh the evidence
fairly.

You can here his broadcasts at

The broadcasts pertaining to Creation start on December 7th.  (As of this
time broadcasts from the 8th thru the 10th have not been posted to the
archives but should be available soon).

I recommend listening to his other broadcasts as well if you are at all
interested in the topic.

Thanks,
Ryan
