Why support the Scripture rather than merely antievolutionism?

Amid the discussion about the ID theory, one of the reasons that I have
tended to support concordism is because of what has become so apparent
lately, namely that ID doesn't really do Christian apologetics any good.
Neither does anti-evolutionism either. Concordism is the only way I can see
to actually defend and support our religion.

What is interesting is that there is a Turkish fellow who uses many of the
same arguments as the ID group to support Allah. One should look at this
site and notice how similar the arguments are to those that both the ID and
YECs use. It clearly illustrates why I don't think mere opposition to
evolution or some 'materialist' philosophy will do Christianity any good.
Concordism with the events as described in Scripture is the only real way
to distinguish our religion from others, apologetically speaking. In the
note I sent to the evolution reflector 2 weeks before Keith's note
(http://www.calvin.edu/archive/evolution/199911/0208.html). In it I
discussed the implications of having an apologetic that is so broad as to
include Wells as a Unification Church member and Islam. , I wrote:

I have just discovered something. It appears that Jonathon Wells is a
Moonie. See:

As I have said many times, the ID movement really won't do Christianity any
good as it can be applied to any religion including Islam. See:

http://www.harunyahya.org/Eng/homeeng.html

I especially like the part that says:

"The author has published numerous books and booklets explicitly proving
the existence of Allah, emphasising the marvellous creation of Allah
against the materialistic and atheistic ideologies, and of course their
most efficient and significant view: the Evolution Theory"

Sounds familiar doesn't it. He is the Phil Johnson of Turkey!

Elsewhere on his web page I found the following:
**begin quote**
"The readers of this study will behold and witness the inescapable evidence
of Allah’s
existence once more...

When the wonderful harmony in nature is clearly observable even with the naked
eye, how can it be possible to think that this equilibrium was established
haphazardly and by chance? Surely, there must be an owner of this equilibrium
existing in our bodies and reaching the remotest corners of the incredibly
vast
universe. He must be a will who existed before the entire universe and who
then
created the universe. The Eminent Creator in Whom everything finds
existence and
Whose Being is without beginning or end...
This book is a summons to think about the universe and the living things
Allah has
created and to see the perfection in their creation. From non-existence to
existence... The signs of Allah in the heavens and on the earth...
Scientists confirm
Allah’s signs... Scientific realities and the Quranic miracle... The
evolution deceit...
Philosophies that reject Allah... The model of a society disbelieving in
Allah... The
true home promised to people: The hereafter... A different approach to
matter...
(165 pages with pictures in color)"

****end quote

If we Christians don't actually support the Bible rather than some fuzzy
non-materialist philosophy which benefits religion in general rather than
Christianity in particular, we are not doing ourselves any good. We have to
support things that specifically undergird Scripture.
