Can someone shed some light on these two (differing?) accounts.

man, and brought her to the man. " Gen. 2:22.

As a "literalist," the only way I can make sense of the two accounts,
Genesis
1:1-2:4a and 2:4b-25, is to deal with them as two distinct revelations,
the first
taking six nights (evening to morning) and the second a single day. The
only
chronology seems to me to be that of the revelations, not the history of
creation.
I am persuaded that the popular day-age interpretation requires giving
grossly
ad hoc twists to the former account and ignoring the latter.
