Re:Literal Gen and predators ?

This question for those who hold genesis literal.Just looking for as many
possibile scenarios as there are.checked the archives but found little on
Genesis 1:29,30 implications that animals were vegans.I have no problem
with death before the fall for any reason except these verses and the
complimentary "freedom" to prey after the fall.Seems to me very difficult
as the author's meaning is obvious no matter how bendable the hebrew is in
1998.
