I just got back from choir practice where I saw a Nepalese man who has been
visiting our church off and on for the past few months. I hadn't seen him
in a few weeks so I took the opportunity to talk with him again. During
our conversation, I asked him what the Nepalese word for 'uncle' was. (I
was just curious.) He said it was 'kaka'. I was pleasantly surprised
given the note I sent out tonight about Ruhlen's work on 'kaka' as
uncle/older brother etc.
