Quite so -- that was my point (well -- one of my points).
As Steve pointed out (properly so, IMO), the meaning of the word
"evolution" is a moving target and, to many people, does not
mean what it meant 1000 years ago, or even last year in the book you
cited!
As a science progresses, it needs better definitions, not flakier.
In the case of evolutionary theory, this has not always been the case.
