I, too, have thought of quitting the list, due to the number of
messages which are piling up in my inbox. But my thinking is usually
stimulated by reading these messages. So I keep hoping I'll have time to
read them.
One solution I've seen other listserves do is to have the server
produce a daily digest of all the messages posted. I have no idea how
involved (software-wise, server-wise) such a task is, but this could
provide another option for those of us who like to read and occasionally
contribute (asa-digest@calvin.edu?). Although this doesn't address the
volume of material, it would decrease the number of messages from 20/day to
1/day. And the regular asa@calvin.edu list would be available for those
who can't wait until the next day to respond :)
Other options? How difficult is this, Terry?
