Today I received a pre-publication announcement of "The Works of Robert
Boyle," a 14 volume set edited by Michael Hunter and Edward B. (Ted)
Davis. Published by Pickering & Chatto of London, the series is the
first scholarly edition of Boyle's writings to appear since 1772. It
includes all his published works and previously unpublished materials. It
is fully annotated and comprehensively indexed and includes a definitive
account of the publishing history and composition of each work of one whose
Christian faith was intertwined with his natural philosophy.
While the pre-publication price of $1350 is a bit beyond most of us you might
encourage your academic library to take a look. I trust that we will hear from
Ted (in PSCF) concerning some of the insights that he has gained through
this significant project.
