I don't see the issue as being whether we win or lose, so much as whether
we are privileged to _see_ the victory (or what our action is to
accomplish). When we obey God, we may not see any good that comes from our
action, but I don't believe God commands us to do something without a
purpose. We Calvinists are -- sometimes -- fond of saying that we engage
in evangelism because God tells us to. And indeed we do. But God has also
assured us that His word won't return void. So, even though we may not
_see_ the results of our evangelism, we can be assured that it is
accomplishing God's good purpose.
