I had not thought of it that way, Will, but you are right of course.
There is no experiment or discovery I can make that would
falsify the principle of natural causation, and that is true, I think,
even
in thought scenarios (go back to the Cana wedding and test
that wine every way possible; show up with Thomas after the
resurrection and do a complete medical workup on Jesus). Under the
methodological naturalism rule, I will conclude natural causation.
What if, however, I discard that rule? What I do then is NOT science.
If I keep the rule "philosophical naturalism," I will conclude the same
as before.
If I do not keep that rule, I may well (I WILL) conclude otherwise.
