What I do appreciate about the above quotation (and we should be looking
for good as well as bad) is that Gish has carefully qualified and defined
what he has stated. I would like to see more of that attitude practiced by
those who interact on this list (including myself). I think a scientific
attitude demands a measure of tentativity and our search for truth requires
it in our responses to one another. I believe it is healthy and evokes far
more confidence that a dogmatic assertion.
