Adrian,

I think that others have adequately responded to the list of YEC
arguments, but I would like to add some comments about one of them.

A number of years ago I attended a talk given by a solar scientist, John
Eddy (if I correctly recall the name). Part of his talk was devoted to
some conclusions that he had drawn from studying tree rings. By some
method which I don't recall he had been able to determine the strength of
the earth's magnetic field over a considerable time in the past. He had
found that the most recent maximum for that strength occurred about 500 A.
D., as I recall. I presume that his results are somewhere in the
literature.
