Edwin Sidney used this verse in 1866 as proof that the flood was limited in
area-only the region inhabited by the ungodly was affected. He rejects
Darwin's newly-published ideas as unsupported, but strongly argues that the
Biblical text supports an old earth and a limited area for the flood. He
clearly is not attempting to justify evolution!
