My brother,

I was once in your shoes. I was brought up in Church and believed
everything I was told about the Genesis account of creation. Then,
when I started coming face-to-face with the "facts" of evolution, I
like many others, couldn't answer the questions posed. So, I started
to doubt many things. The realization that I came to is what our
brother in Christ wrote you in the previous post. The Gospel and the
saving power of God does not rest in the method He used in creating
the Universe. It rests in Christ's life, death, and ressurection from
the dead. That is the central issue of our faith.

If God created out of nothing, or if He used evolution as a tool to
bring about His design, that doesn't matter. God did it, however He
did. We can rest in that. We can also rest in His love and
forgiveness, knowing that Christ and His love for us is as real as is
His creation. We are the products of design. Believe that. Whatever
tool He used in fashioning us. We are His loved creations, the
creations that He sent His Son to die for. We are the children of God.

Don't let minor issues shake the core of your faith. Seek the truth
and rest in the hands of the Author of Truth.

In Christ,
J. Arthur Alley
