The article appeared too late to be a focus of the recent NTSE conference,
though it was mentioned there. It addresses the same issues wrestled with
at that conference. The sense of the participants at the conference (most
of them) is that Gould is wrong, at least that's how I read Rob Koon's
report on the NTSE published a few days after the conference ended.
