Burgy's concern with distinguishing personality and issues reminds me
of a Pat Paulsen editorial concerning censorship he gave on the
Smothers Brothers TV show.

Delivered when Ronald Reagan was Governor of California, one of the
paragraphs stated something close to:

"Now, we can say that Ronald Reagan is a good Governor, but we can't
say on the air that he was a poor actor. Thats Ridiculous! Everybody
knows that Ronald Reagan is a good actor."

I resist the temptation to retool this for the present subject.

On another note, I was happy to see that Paul Nelson is (or may be) on
the list. Although I look at the world quite differently (and our
views seem to be diverging) I have been impressed with him since I
First met him at an ASA meeting back in the mid 80's when as a
creationist he went to graduate school in evolutionary biology at the
University of Chicago. I was specifically impressed that he, a
creationist, could talk of appreciating Stephen Jay Gould's work.
