Darnton, at the library a couple days ago. Published in 1996. Interesting
story -- fiction of course -- of how researchers found a small band of
these guys still around. You might like it. Has some "scientific stuff" in
it which talks about the evidences that Neanderthals were "human," had
religion, clothing, etc. And how the two theories of how they died out (war
with us or interbreeding with us) were in conflict. Also arguments (pro and
con) on how well they could talk/communicate.
