Might not Van Till's "functional economy" apply in the abortion
discussion? What I am trying to say is: Couldn't the point of humanity
be said to be reached when all the elements critical for development are
in one package: the fertilized egg? Barring outside interference or
natural processes such as spontaneous abortion, that fertilized egg is
the first part of the development of a human being. Just as H.V.T. argues
that all the elements necessary for the development of creation are
present in God's plan from the beginning, so all the elements of the
person's development are present in the fertilized egg.
Just a thought.
