On a lighter note, I talked this morning to a philosophy of science
class about a Christian perspective on faith and the limits of
science. To try to place the discussion in a larger context and make
the point that a large part of what people consider important cannot
be answered by science, I asked students to write answers to a few
questions, including,

"Does human life have purpose or meaning? Why do you believe this?"

The best, precise, and most powerful answer was:

"Yes; religious beliefs and it would suck if there was none?"
