I understand that there is evidence of massive flooding in the
areas of the Black, Red, Caspian and Mediterranean seas. Certainly
evidence for a global flood is lacking. There is good evidence within the
Bible that the flood was not global. In Genesis 6:4 (before the flood) we
read, "The Nephilim were on the earth in those days - and also afterward -
when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by
them." Then in Numbers 13:33 (after the flood) we read, "We saw the
Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim)." Clearly
the Nephilim were not destroyed in the flood if they had descendants after
it.
>These are fair questions and saying that "the Bible does not give precise

I don't think that they are non-historical. They may be
misinterpreted a bit at times though.
>2) Was there a Tower of Babel event? If not, or if a literal reading
>greatly exaggerates what happened, can you show me why I should not read
>it literally?
A reason to read it non-literally is that it occurs in the middle
of a long genealogy with no apparent relation to anything else.
Another is the "worry" of God about what the people would be able to
do. It makes no sense to think that the accomplishments of man could ever
present the slightest threat to God or His plans.
Feel free to mull (or maul) over these thoughts.
>3) Was there an historic Adam and fall? When and where did he live (at
>least within one million years and 1000 miles!) If you cant tell me when
>and where can you at least come up with one possible scenario?
Didn't we just have a thread on this? I'm sure a quick search
through the archives would give several scenarios.
